The annual epidemiology conference WEON 2012
WEON is the annual conference on Epidemiology in the Netherlands. This year WEON is hosted by the Departments of Epidemiology and of Public Health at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, under the auspices of the Netherlands Epidemiology Society (VvE).
The central theme is:
Health and disease during the life course
Health and disease during the life course
The central theme of WEON 2012 reflects one of the most important challenges in epidemiology: to understand the interaction of different causes acting at different stages during one’s life, from before conception through to old age, in order to establish the causes of diseases and their consequences. Three well-renowned keynote speakers will provide insight into the latest innovations in life course epidemiology.
Six special methodological sessions will be organised : analysis of competing risks, methods for life course trajectories, genome wide association studies and chronic diseases, developments in meta-analysis and meta-regression, and methods in analysing mediation patterns.
The conference ends with an intense debate: “to Screen or not to Screen”
Send us your ideas and suggestions on:
- suitable topics for the special sessions
- pre-conference workshops (half/full day)
Why going there?
At WEON all active epidemiologists in the Netherlands gather to share their knowledge and experiences. PhD-students and senior-researchers from all major organisations will present their latest research.
Due to its informal nature, contacts are easily established and network opportunities are plentiful. Come and get to know your colleagues and peers!
